5 Ways Ayahuasca Changed My Life By Roxanne Heibloem 🌿

In 2019, I walked away from a thriving corporate career in Australia to ceremoniously sit with Mother Ayahuasca in Costa Rica—a decision that forever changed the course of my life. Here are five ways that sacred plant medicine shifted me into living with purpose, presence, and power.

1. Healing the Heart – Letting Go of Emotional Baggage
In my first Ayahuasca ceremony, I was shown vivid loops of childhood pain—grief, rejection, and emotions I had long buried beneath my high-performing corporate life. Layer by layer, as these memories surfaced and dissolved, I felt an immense emotional release—lighter, more aligned, and deeply seen. It was as if the medicine cracked open a door I didn’t know was closed, reconnecting me with the truth of who I am. That night marked the beginning of my soul's remembrance and a return to the path I was always meant to walk.
2. True Belonging - Reconnecting with My Soul Through Ayahuasca
By the third night, my identity as “misfit” began to soften. I saw through a veil of doubt and reclaimed a deeper soul-centered truth—realizing I wasn’t broken or misplaced. I was simply out of tune with my inner rhythm.
3. Soul Alignment – Choosing Service Over Self
On the final night, I was shown two paths: self-serving ambition or soulful service. Ayahuasca clarified that my fulfillment—true purpose—comes when I uplift others. That vision sparked the birth of Awakening Education and our journey in conscious coaching and filmmaking.
4. Reframing Reality – From Corporate to Cosmic Creator
What I thought was success—my insurance brokerage and business identity—became outdated overnight. After Ayahuasca revealed deeper layers of consciousness, I leaped into creative storytelling—literally producing a documentary about Ayahuasca's magic and intuition-driven life.
5. Elevating Consciousness – Empowering Others Through Film & Coaching
Today, my work with Peter in Awakening Education blends coaching, energy healing, and visual media. Our documentary Ayahuasca – Source for the Soul has been featured in Cannes and Hollywood festivals, and is helping people around the world face conditioning, regain clarity, and anchor states of peace and purpose.
Final Reflection
Ayahuasca was not just a journey—it was a reconnection. It cleared the fog of programmed ambition and replaced it with compassionate service. It taught me how to operate from the heart again.
If you're on the edge of transformation—feeling called to heal, awaken, or serve—know this: true change comes when you surrender to an energy larger than your fear.
